Vitae Sanctorum, editorial for Tank Magazine.

This editorial explores how dress codes, behaviour and iconography help establish power dynamics within sects and cults. Informed by a large body of research around various different cults around the world, as well as drawing from my own experience of growing up in a spiritual sect, this story deconstructs the visual representation of saints, sheikhs, gurus, masters and spiritual leaders alike. It also aims to explore the the oftentimes hidden practices and lives of cult members, analysing their worship and obsession with the master, which can lead to an immense competition amongst fellow disciples to become their leader’s most loyal, devoted and closest disciple.
